Our new cycle in Epiphany 2009 is taking some of the music of U2 as background and way in to the Epiphany theme. For one thing, and most importantly, the music is simply very good. That's enough - this is shalom - the sound of God's-better-world-now breaking out and breaking in. But more than that, U2's songs invariably explore themes of yearning, hope, and possibility. And they frequently use biblical imagery [brilliantly] to do this. We imagine that they will stretch us and open up some great questions. We may also be able to take some pieces of songs and make them into mayBe music.
